General idea/story inference:

I think this song is not really about any one thing.  But it explains how crazy things can be when you are tired or had a little to much fun last night.  When people hear this song I believe the first thing they do is get confused and maybe a little scarred, because its different and strange, but what we all need to know is, that is how life is, and we need to get use to it.

For the benifite of Mr. K. I think that line shows us how we do things blindly.  No one knows who Mr. K is, but we just keep going

The band begins at ten to six. This line shows how random and unpredictable life is. I mean, ten to six? Who does that?!

Its me! In the thing! .  This line shows that we never really know whats going on.  He says a few times that he spent years putting it together, yet he doesn't even know what the "thing" is.

And tonight Mr. Kite is topping the bill baby! Across the universe.  It's me.  This line is when he revels that the one singing is actually Mr. K and he was singing about him self the whole time.  It shows we all like to take credit for stuff and be prideful.

Just tune in, turn off, drop out, drop in, switch off, switch on, and explode.  We are all random and have no idea what the heck is going on in our lives in the long run... or now
